Darrell Revis after five seasons, 4 pro bowls, 3 time all- pro, and 19 interceptions for the Jets later gets rewarded by being traded to Tampa Bay. Revis was traded for no less than a first round pick this year and a conditional 4th round pick in 2014.
Revis reportedly wanted roughly 16 million dollars a year from the Jets in a long term contract that the Jets ownership stated that they could not afford.
Instead the shut down corner was traded from the team that drafted him back in 2007 to Tampa. Revis will hopefully get about 15 million in-guaranteed money according to ESPN.
Revis is coming off a torn ACL injury and there were question on his level of play after surgery. So Revis is going to have to show that he is healthy on the field in order to receive his money.
In the end, unless Revis can no longer play football or performs a a very low level then the Tampa Bay Buccaneers just clearly stole the best corner-back in the league from right under the Jets.
